Theater Richard Hugo House has a black box theater that seats 86 with additional folding chairs available to seat up to 125. The theater has a small PA and programmable light console with a variety of lighting fixtures. The theater in now available for rental by application. Richard Hugo House seeks theater companies whose mission is in harmony with our own and who can show they have an experienced technical staff. The rental rates are $200/day for any technical or non-performance rehearsals and $300 for performances, not including technical staff. Rental fees are due in advance of a production. First time renters will be charged a refundable cleaning deposit. Sunday rentals will require additional fees to staff our front desk. The theater will primarily be open for rentals on weekends. Multiple performances on the same date my incur additional charges. Rental opportunities are available starting September 2009. The 2010 calendar will be divided into rentable blocks of between three and six weeks and priority will be given to productions of three weeks or longer. Shorter bookings may become available. Workshops/Rehearsals/Meetings Alice and Winslow are our classrooms located on the second floor. These 650 square feet rooms feature one large white board each, folding tables and chairs to seat 15-20 people. Tables and chairs can be removed to create an open space. Alice and Winslow are used for Hugo House classes and other programs, and each room is available to rent. Individuals or groups may rent multi-purpose rooms (Alice, Winslow, Library and Conference Room) for the rate of $15/hr members; $20/hr non-profit; $25/hr private.
The Cabaret is a performance space on our main floor. It has small tables and wooden chairs and can seat up to 80 people. In the center of the Cabaret is a stage with a sound system and lighting board. The Cabaret is available for rent, and is often used for public and private readings, meetings, and concerts.
The Cabaret is equipped with a sound system and a basic lighting arrangement. Hugo House staff can provide assistance with the setup of basic wash of lights and 1-2 microphones, but will not run sound and lights during the event. Renters will need to provide their own technical staff for any additional technical support. Access to additional technical equipment in Cabaret will require an initial meeting between any technical staff employed by renter and our facility manager.
Arts and non-profit events: $150 per night (or for any 6-hour period) Café Hugo Café Hugo serves coffee and tea, beer, wine, cocktails and light snacks. The Café can be open for an event that takes place in the Cabaret. In order to assure a reasonable income, Café Hugo operates under the following arrangements: ARRANGEMENTS FOR RENTERS AND CO-SPONSORS: • Renter or Co-Sponsor may request Café be opened and staffed by Hugo House for a fee of $50. • Renter or Co-Sponsor may request for the Café to be closed. With this arrangement, renters may not serve their own food or beverages. Renters may request a simple coffee and tea service to be set up for a fee of $15. • If you plan to offer your own food and beverages at your event, a buyout fee of $50 is charged by Hugo House, and the Café will not open. If you plan to serve alcohol, you must show the necessary liquor permits to the facility manager 24 hours before the event. Hugo House is closed on Sundays. Rentals scheduled on Sundays, on holidays, or after 11 p.m. will be charged an additional $15/hr security fee to cover the cost of staff.
